職稱考試中的閱讀理解部分題型相對穩定，只要熟悉它們的出題方法與做法，并進行有針對性的訓練，就能大幅度提高成績。常見的題型主要有：
一、主旨題
這類問題主要測試考生把握主題與中心思想的能力。主要形式有：
1. The main idea of this passage is ________.
2. The passage mainly discusses ________.
3. What is the passage primarily concerned about?
4. What is the main topic of this passage?
除了上述直接形式外，還有隱蔽型主旨題：
Which of the following is the author’s advice to the reader?
標題是主旨題的變體。主要形式有：
1. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?
2. The best title for this passage might be ________.
作者的態度、寫作目的與主題和中心思想關系密切，可以看做主旨題的延伸。主要形式有：
問寫作目的：
1. The author writes this passage mainly to ________.
2. The author’s purpose in writing this passage is ________.
問態度：
1. The author’s attitude towards ... is ________.
2. The tone of this passage can be described as ________.
此外，對于文章內容、風格與讀者對象的評判也可歸入此類題型。如：
1. The passage appears to be (is most likely) a part of ________.
2. Where would this passage most probably be found?
二、細節題
這類問題測試考生把握文章細節的能力，主要與文中的考點相聯系，如：最高級、惟一性、其他對比、數字年代、原因等。主要形式有：
